Tesla FSD in Europe: FAQ

Is Tesla FSD available in Europe?

Yes, in a growing number of countries. Tesla's supervised driving software, now called Tesla Assisted Driving (TAD) in Europe, is approved country by country based on a provisional type approval from the Dutch RDW. It is not yet approved EU-wide. See the live map for the current list.

What is Tesla Assisted Driving?

Tesla Assisted Driving is the European name for Full Self-Driving (Supervised). The driver must stay attentive and ready to take over at all times; it is a driver-assistance system, not autonomous driving.

Why was FSD Supervised renamed in Europe?

In October 2026 Tesla's European support pages began using the name Tesla Assisted Driving. The software and its supervised nature are the same; only the name changed.

When will Tesla FSD come to my country?

Each country's road authority must recognise the approval. Tesla then rolls the software out gradually over the air. Check your country's page for its current status and timeline.

What is the difference between approved and available?

Approved means the national authority allows the system on its roads. Available means Tesla has actually started delivering it to customers' cars in that country.

What does UNECE Regulation 171 (DCAS) have to do with FSD?

UN Regulation 171 sets the rules for Driver Control Assistance Systems in Europe. It defines what supervised systems like Tesla Assisted Driving may do and how drivers must be monitored.
